Tour Overview

Day 1

Arrival in Kathmandu

Our representative will welcome you at Tribhuvan International Airport’s arrival hall after immigration and then transfer to your designated hotel. Briefing about the trip and have dinner at a Nepalese restaurant with culture show. Stay overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 2

Meeting with Nepal Agricultural Research Council (NARSC)

After breakfast, drive to Patan and visit the Durbar Square, believed to be founded by the medieval rulers as early as 299 AD, has many shrines and Temples noted for their fine carving including the famous Krishna Temple with 21 pinnacles. And also visit the Pashupatinath Temple, one of the most scared of all Hindu temples, dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is situated five kilometres east on the bank of the sacred Bagmati River, the temple with its two tiered golden roof and silver doors is famous for its superb architecture. Further visit Metal Craft followed by interaction with Leaving Kumari of Patan. Then visit the Nepal Agricultural Research Council (NARC), which came into being in 1991, was set up with the goal of promoting research work in the field of agriculture. The new organization was started with the institutional facilities of the then National Agricultural Research and Services Centre (NARSC) which had been serving as a prime agricultural research organization in Nepal since 1985. The organization functioned under the Department of Agriculture, Ministry of Agriculture. Interaction with the officer's of NARC to get knowledge of farming and agriculture background of the country. Stay overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 3

Dakshinkali Temple and Horticulture Centre Tour

After breakfast, drive to Sisneri via Pharping and Dakshinkali Temple. Pharping is a thriving, traditional Newari town, 9 mile south of Kathmandu and surprisingly untouched by the swarms of tourists that visit Dakshinkali. The town is famous for its pilgrimage sites, the Hindu origins of which have been largely absorbed by the now predominant Tibetan Buddhist monasteries. At the southern edge of the valley, in a dark, somewhat spooky location in the cleft between two hills and at the confluence of two rivers stands the blood-soaked temple of Dakshinkali. The temple is dedicated to the goddess Kali, Shiva's consort in her most bloodthirsty incarnation, and twice a week faithful Nepal is journey here to satisfy her bloodlust. On the way back to Kathmandu, we will visit Horticulture Centre and interact with the officials to get more information about their agriculture system. Stay overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 4

Organic farms Tour

After breakfast drive to Sankhu. To see the Slope Agriculture Land Technology (SALT) farming we will visit some of the Organic farms at Nagarkot and nearby area. Sankhu, one of the oldest Newar villages of the Kathmandu valley holds pristine natural surroundings and offers a galore of culture and heritage of the Goddess Vajrayogini and Newar people. Sankhu, derived from the original Newar language Sakwo: means the settlement next to the Tibet. Stay overnight at a hotel in Nagarkot.
Day 5

Fertilizer Factory Tour

After breakfast, drive to Chitwan National Park (approx 160 km/ 4-5 hrs). En-route visit local farms and Agro-Health Bio Tech Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Pancha Ratna Group (PRG), has started production of organic fertilizers with the brand name ´Bio Mal´. According to Til Chandra Bhattarai, proprietor of the factory, the factory targets to produce 1,000 tons of organic fertilizer per day". Have dinner and stay overnight at a forest lodge in Chitwan.
Day 6

Institute of Agriculture and Animal Science (IAAS) Faculty Tour

Early morning wakeup call with Tea/ Coffee and then processed for the Jungle Activities. After breakfast, drive to the Institute of Agriculture and Animal Science (IAAS) is an agricultural institute under Tribhuwan University in Nepal for college level training in agriculture and animal sciences. Visit the faculties, meet the students and teachers and get knowledge about the study system. Have dinner and stay overnight at a forest lodge in Chitwan.
Day 7

Bamboo Factory and Fish Farm Tour

Possible Jungle activities at Chitwan including Elephant safari and canoeing. Visit to the Elephant breeding center, jeep drive and jungle walk. Also visit Bamboo factory at Mardi / Poultry / Fish farming. Have dinner and stay overnight at a forest lodge in Chitwan.
Day 8

Goat Breeding Centre Tour

After breakfast board the vehicle and drive Pokhara (171 kms). En-route visit Bandipur. This Newar town is a heady mix of history, architecture, incredible views, awesome caves and unspoiled landscapes. Visit the Goat Breeding Centre, one of the best in Nepal, run by the Government of Nepal. After the visit we continue the drive to Pokhara (53 kms). Short hike to peace stupa and boat cruise on Phewa Lake in the afternoon. Stay overnight at a hotel in Pokhara.
Day 9

Agriculture Research Centre Tour

After breakfast, drive to Lumle (20 kms/ 1hr drive) to visit Agriculture Research Centre and interaction with the officials and visit the fields. Then drive till Milan Chowk via Pokhara. From Milan Chowk you will start the trek to Astam which is 2 hrs uphill hike, or can reach by Jeep. Upon arrival at Astam, check in at Hana- no- ie Agro-resort. They feed you the fully organic produce from its garden. Its stone and mud walls partitioning rooms have coconut fibers within them, providing you with the air-conditioning without using artificial equipments. Together with the sophisticated facilities and spontaneous hospitality of its staff, you can also learn to prepare the Nepalese dish in its kitchen and the traditional Nepalese method of making butter. Have dinner and stay overnight at Hana-No-Ie at Astam.
Day 10

Astam Village Tour

After breakfast, explore Himalayan lifestyles accompany with a Hana-no-ie's staff. Visit the nearer villages to observe the people’s living style and their culture. You can observe milking the buffaloes in the morning and also includes the activities such as making yoghurt, butter (ghee) and yoghurt drink in typical Nepali style. Take part of cooking in a typical Nepali kitchen and make candles using bee-wax. Have dinner and stay overnight at Hana-No-Ie at Astam.
Day 11

Leisure in Kathmandu

After breakfast, drive 210 kms to Kathmandu (7 hrs). Upon arrival, transfer to hotel and free. Overnight stay Kathmandu.
Day 12

Depart Kathmandu

After breakfast, transfer to airport for onward destination.
