Tour Overview

Day 1

Arrival in Dhaka

Receive you at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport after immigration and luggage clearance and then transfer to hotel. Afternoon we will offer you to visit Dharmarajika Buddhist Temple. This was established in 1960 at the initiative of Bishuddhananda Mahathera. It acts as the cultural and regional centre of Bangladeshi Buddhists and houses the ashes of famous Buddhist scholar Atisha Dipankara called as Second Buddha. It has a good collection of Buddha statues. Stay overnight Dhaka.
Day 2

Mainamati Buddhist Vihara

Morning drive to Cumilla (110 km/ approx 3 hrs) and visit the spectacular archaeological sites at Mainamati. We will visit Salban Vihara –the relics of old Buddhist Civilization. It is dotted with more than 50 Buddhist settlements of 7th -12th century AD. We will also visit Kutila Mura, Rupban Mura and the rich archaeological museum. A new Buddhist temple has been built there by the Thai Government, with a Lotus Bud on top is also worth visiting. After visiting heritage sites, drive 165 km to Chattgram and stay overnight at hotel.
Day 3

Kaptai Lake Cruise

Morning visit Nandan Kanan Buddhist Temple. The holly hair relics and foot prints of Lord Buddha have been preserved in this temple. Then drive to Rangamati (80 km/ approx 3 hrs) –the land of Chakma tribes. Upon arrival the hill district, you have to go through an entry procedure by Bangladesh Border Guard Army. Then transfer to hotel. After freshen up, take a boat cruise on Kaptai Lake. The largest manmade lake with crystal clear water will amaze you while visiting tribal villages beside the lake. Experience the Chakma’s lifestyle and weaving system. There are some small shops of hand made products just front of some Chakma houses. You can buy something from there as a souvenir for your family and friends and it can help them too in a sense. Watch the beautiful sunset scene from the Hanging Bridge on the Kaptai Lake. In the evening, visit tribal factory to observe their weaving procedure by handloom. Stay overnight Rangamati.
Day 4

Bandarban

After breakfast, visit Rajban Buddhist Vihara (outside view) and then drive to Bandarban (100 km/ approx 4 hrs) through the panoramic hill slopes covered with creeper jungles. Bandarban is the attractive place to visit and to get a touch of different tribal communities with their own cultural entity. There is not less that 12 to 13 indigenous tribal groups generated from the Sino-Tibetan origin that migrated mainly from Arakan and found safe shelter to this hill plateau just 250-300 years back. Among them prominent groups are Chakma, Marma, Tripura, Mru, Tangchaya, Khumi, Lushai, Pankhu, Bawm, Kuki, etc. Each tribal group has their own distinctive cultural entity. Transfer to designated hotel after complete entry procedure at BDR Gate. Afternoon you will visit a tribal village of Marma and experience their lifestyle. Stay overnight Bandarban.
Day 5

Tribal Villages

After breakfast undertake a panoramic drive to visit some tribal villages –Mru, Tripura and Bawm to experience their livelihood, cultivation and culture. Afternoon you will drive to Cox’s Bazar (140 km/ approx 4.5 hrs) through the hilly and plain lands. Check-in hotel for night stay.
Day 6

Aggamedha Khyang and Ramkot Vihara

After breakfast, visit Aggameda Khyang. It has a big Buddhist monastery and a residence admired by around 400,000 Buddhist people of Cox’s Bazar and the Chittagong hill tracts. The major sanctuary cum monastery is carried on a sequence of round timber columns, which apart from accommodating the prayer hall and an assembly hall, also is the repository of a large of small bronze Buddha images-mostly of Burmese origin and some old manuscripts. Then drive back to Dhaka via Ramu –the ancient capital of Rakhain tribal community (20 km far from the beach city).  Here you would find various Buddhist relics and Burmese handicrafts. The best attraction is however, the large bronze statue of Buddha which is thirteen feet high set over a 6 feet high pedestal. It is the biggest among the Buddha statues that are found in whole of Bangladesh and you will find many Buddha statues here. Visit Ramkot Vihar, they believe that Gautam Buddha visited this place. Check-in hotel of Dhaka in the late evening and stay overnight.
Day 7

Depart Dhaka

Free till transfer to airport for next destination.
