Tour Overview

Day 1

Arrival in Dhaka and Otter Fishing Tour

Arrival in Dhaka in the early morning, and then you will be received by your guide at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport’s arrival hall after immigration and immediately transfer to Domestic Terminal. Then take flight for Jashore. Immediately arrival in Jashore, you will be transferred to a remote village in Narail (40 km/ approx 1.5 hrs) to enjoy Otter Fishing operated by local fishing boat. The fishermen will have their Otters on the boat. They will send them to dive in the river. The Otters will catch the fish from the river and bring it back to the fishers. This will be a 1.5-2 hours activity. Post the fishing activity, transfer to Khulna (70 km/ approx 2.5 hrs). En-route you can visit 11 Shiva Temples at Bhatpara village in Abhaynagar Upazila, 45 km southwest of Jessore town. The grouped temple is a large brick complex, with clay terracotta plaques. Stay overnight at a hotel in Khulna.
Day 2

Sundarban –Kotka

After morning (at 0550 hrs) drive to Mongla and board on the vessel. The cruise will start immediately towards Sundarban forest. Sundarban is the largest mangrove forest and habitat of Royal Bengal Tigers in the world and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The 10000 sq km forest is divided with cluster of islands. The islands are full of different vegetation, many colourful birds, Asiatic crocodile, herds of spotted deer, wild boar and many aquatic creatures. Even you may see the river dolphins. The nature itself is a matter of enchantment, boating on the canals, bird watching and looking for the tiger while walking through the forest with careful steps an unforgettable and memorable experience. We will arrive at Kotka Forest Station in the late afternoon. If time permits, walk behind the the Kotka forest station to see wild life or go for a country boat trip on a small canal. Back to the vessel and stay overnight on board and have breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Day 3

Sundarban –Kochikhali

Early in the morning do a country boat tour through small creeks and canals to see the wildlife and feel the forest from very close. After breakfast, the guide will offer for jungle walk and beach tour. In the noon, the vessel will start cruising towards Kochikhali wildlife sanctuary. Afternoon go for jungle walk near the forest office. Stay overnight on board and have breakfast, lunch and Bar-B-Q dinner.
Day 4

Sundarban –Local Village

Early in the morning we shall offer trip for watching birds by country boat through small creeks and canals. Then cruise back to Mongla through a different way we visited ever. En-route we will offer jungle walk at Harbaria/ Karamjal forest station and a tour at a village where you can meet people struggling in forest range. Experience their lifestyle. Have breakfast and lunch on board. Then disembark from the vessel in the afternoon and drive back to Khulna and stay overnight at a hotel.
Day 5

Bagerhat –The Ancient Mosque City

After breakfast drive to Bagerhat (40 km/ approx 1.5 hrs). Bagerhat is a city lost in the mangrove jungle at the confluence of the Ganges and Brahmaputra rivers, was founded by the Turkic commander Ulug Khan Jahan in the 15th century. You can see many mosques and ancient Islamic monuments, many of which are built of bricks. 60 Domed Mosque is the oldest mosque in Bangladesh, built in the 15th century by Khan Jahan Ali, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The interior of the mosque is very interesting. The mosque is mostly decorated with terracotta ornaments and domes. You can visit some other small mosques –Singair, Bibi Begni, one dome mosque around the area and the Tomb of the Khan Jahan Ali (if time permits). After visiting the mosque city, transfer to Barisal (85 km/ approx 3 hrs including ferry transfer). Check-in hotel and stay overnight.
Day 6

Back Water and Village Tour

Very early morning (around 0500 hrs) drive to Banaripara (50 km/ approx 1.5 hrs). Take a motor boat and start the Back Water Trip. Enjoy the country’s largest floating markets by local mechanized boat. You will find 2-3 hundred wooden canoes floating with full of fruits & vegetables involve in trading activities and floating gardens of sugarcane and hog palm beside the canal. Miles after miles you can enjoy this cruise. The natural beauty may amaze you for a long. The rural life on the bank of the canals and rivers makes you understand the lifestyle of the people of the area. Visit a school on the bank and experience the rural education system. Then your guide will offer a village trip. Enjoy the village life and get experience of local activities –cocking puff rice, making mat and hand fan with natural products, husking rice, etc. Further take a short drive to Guthia village and visit Baitul Aman Jame Masjid –the largest and very beautiful mosque of Barisal District. This mosque is also known as Guthia Mosque. Drive back to hotel in the evening and stay overnight.
Day 7

Barisal Tour

After breakfast, visit the city –local bazaar, school and a ruined Zamindar House. After lunch, transfer to Barisal Boat Terminal and board on an air-conditioned Catamaran for Dhaka. This Catamaran will leave the terminal around 1430 hrs and reach Sadarghat Boat Terminal around 2030 hrs. Transfer to hotel and stay overnight.
Day 8

Depart Dhaka

After breakfast, transfer to airport for onward destination.
