Tour Overview

Day 1

Arrival in Kathmandu

Our representative will welcome you at Tribhuvan International Airport’s arrival hall after immigration and then transfer to your designated hotel. Then go for sightseeing; visit the Pashupatinath Temple, one of the most scared of all Hindu temples, dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is situated five kilometres east on the bank of the sacred Bagmati River, the temple with its two tiered golden roof and silver doors is famous for its superb architecture. Then visit Boudhanath Stupa –the largest Buddhist Stupa in the world just beyond the Pashupatinath temple. It is built on a flat surface on various levels of terraces, and is painted in pastel adorned with prayer flags. It is set in a Mandala design. Altogether 108 Buddha images and 147 insets of prayer wheels adorn the base of the huge circular edifice. The settlement of Boudhanath has the largest community of Tibetans – Twelve thousand in all. Before the sun set, we will back to Pashupatinath Temple to see Arati Ceremony on the banks of river Bagmati. Stay overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 2

Heritage Walking Tour

After breakfast, today we will do a walking tour of Bahal (Courtyard) and link up with Kathmandu Durbar Square. Visit the market of Asan and say hello to imposing Shree Gha, the stupa that followed a monk from Benares to Kathmandu. Stop at the Akash Bhairav temple for a refreshingly rich Lassi (soft drinks). Then visit the Yetkha Bahal whose upper storey is supported by four superb carved-wood struts. Dating from the 12th – 13th century, they are carved in the form of yaksha (attendant deities or nymphs), one of them gracefully balancing a baby on her hip. After that, visit the Durbar Square –a UNESCO world heritage site, the complex of numerous temples, pagodas and courtyards, built between the 12th and 18th centuries, which used to be the seat of the ancient Malla Kings of Kathmandu. There are also three museums inside the palace building. We will also taste the local foods as per your choice. Finally we end our tour at Swayambhunath Stupa (The Melting point of Hinduism and Buddhism). Swayambhunath is regarded as one of the oldest stupas in the world. It is said to be more than 2500 years old. The stupa is also known as "Monkey Temple". Stay overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 3

Patan City and Balkumari Temple

After breakfast, sightseeing tour of the ancient Patan City will be offered. Visit Kumari –The Living Goddess of Patan for blessing and Tika. The major tourist attractions of Patan are Durbar Square, Krishna Mandir, Mahaboudha and Hiranya Verna Mahavihar. We will also meet Master of Singing Bowl Therapy (1 hr therapy) and visit Goldsmith and Silversmith working places to see how they make jewelers. Then visit Thimi's best-known temple Balkumari, dedicated to one of Bhairab’s shaktis. The goddess’ peacock vehicle is depicted on a column in front of the temple, as well as each corner of the temple. It’s the focus for the Balkumari Jatra, a festival where Thimi welcomes the New Year (around mid-April) with riotous scenes as the 32 khats (palanquins) whirl around the temple while red powder is hurled at them. A passage on the south side of Balkumari Temple's square leads to Thimi’s potters’ square, which is full of kilns made from straw covered with ash. After the tour, drive continuous to Bhaktapur. Check-in at hotel after arrival and stay overnight.
Day 4

Changu Narayan and Bhaktapur

After breakfast, visit the oldest temple of the valley named Changu Narayan Temple. It is a Vishnu temple, was built in the 4th century during the time of the Lichhavi rulers, and was rebuilt in the 18th century. The sacred complex is a World Heritage Site and from the temple one can see the beautiful Manohara River flowing like a serpent through green fields, and to the north on a clear day one can see many Himalayan peaks and offers a panoramic view of the surrounding at 125 meters. We can see the Newari culture and tradition around temple. Later enjoy a hike (2-3 hrs) from Changu Narayan to Telkot. The walk follows the saddle of a ridge with great views of the valley on right hand side and the Himalayas on the left hand side.The route passes through small villages and farmlands that are almost always bustling with activity as the farmers work their fields. Few Tamang villages lie between Changu Narayan and Telkot. Telkot is a small village with few small houses some of which have small stalls selling tea to travelers on the way to Nagarkot. Then drive back to Bhaktapur and visit Bhaktapur Durbar Square where the Kings of the Malla dynasty lived till 1769 and has left some of the finest examples of the architectural excellence. Here explore the Royal Palace, the Golden Gate and the Entrance to the Palace of 55 Windows, known as the most significant piece of art in Nepal. Walking around the square you can find the century’s old pagoda styled construction like the Nyatapolo and Datta-Traya temples sight. If time permits, you can also visit Traditional Topi (cap) Making Factory and Vocational Academy. Stay overnight at a hotel in Bhaktapur.
Day 5

Chitwan Forest

After breakfast, drive to Chitwan which will take 5-6 hrs depending on roads condition. It may take more time in case of traffic jam or land-slides. We will drive to the resort in Chitwan. Upon arrival at the Park entry point (Chitwan), met by representatives from the jungle lodge, cross the river on a small ferry and get transferred the Chitwan National Park. If time permits, we will offer you some jungle activities. Stay overnight at Jungle Lodge in Chitwan.
Day 6

Elephant Ride and Jungle Safari

Early wakeup call and proceed for an elephant ride, to view the wildlife in their early repose. This is the best time of the day to see the animals as we silently brush through dewy tall elephant grass (18-20 ft. tall), a habitat for rhinos, tigers and other wild animals. Spend 2-3 hrs in the jungle. Return to the camp for breakfast. Then you will be offered jungle activities including Canoeing, Jungle Walk and visit Tharu Home. Stay overnight at Jungle Lodge in Chitwan.
Day 7

Pokhara

After breakfast, start 4-5 hours (135 kms) scenic drive to Pokhara. Leisure day and stay overnight at hotel in Pokhara.
Day 8

Phewa Lake and Refugee Camp Tour

Early morning drive to Sarangkot (1,592 m) followed by 2.5 km walk (30 minutes) to the former Kaski Fort atop a hill 5 km west of the Pokhara valley. This tiny hill offers magnificent views of the Pokhara valley, the serene Phewa Lake and the different peaks of the Annapurna Range. Drive back to hotel for breakfast. After breakfast, drive to Kalimati to visit the World Peace Stupa, situated high on a hill on the southern shore of Phewa Lake. Besides being an impressive sight in itself, the shrine enjoys a wonderful vantage point, which offers spectacular views of the Annapurna range and Pokhara below. Walk down hill through the forest clad slopes where the guide will explain the flora and fauna. On reaching the shores of the lake, cruise on Phewa Lake. If time permits, you can visit Devi's fall, Seti Gorge, Bindubashini Temple and Tibetan Refugee Camp. Stay overnight at hotel in Pokhara.
Day 9

Gorkha Bazar

After breakfast, drive 107 km to Gorkha (2.45 hrs). Upon arrival, check-in at hotel and freshen up, then visit Gorkha Bazar with local guide and the Durbar (Palace) built on the hilltop. After visit the palace, drive back to hotel for night stay.
Day 10

Leisure at Thamel

After breakfast, drive back to Kathmandu (145 km/ 5 hrs drive) and check-in at hotel. Evening is at leisure at Thamel. Stay overnight at a hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 11

Depart Kathmandu

After breakfast, transfer to airport for onward destination.
